Excellent choice for rivers; flat up to class II. Review by Eric
Price I did an overnight trip on the Shoals section of the Yadkin River in spring of 2011. The Axis 12 was the perfect boat for this trip. I had the boat packed end to end with my cooking and camping gear, along with my clothing, food, and water. The Axis performed great even loaded down. It tracks well (expecially with the skeg deployed), but is still playful enough to catch small river eddys and surf in small waves. This boat also has the best secondary stability (how stable it is when held on edge) I've felt in a performance recreational kayak; if you lean it, it wants to pop back upright. I highly recommend this kayak for those who would like to paddle easy rivers ranging from flat to class II.
