Phase 3 Outfitting

Kayaks are distinct from other boats in that you basically “wear” a kayak. In a Wilderness Systems kayak equipped with Phase3 Outfitting, you’re going to get a tailored fit.
From the sculptured high-density foam seat that encourages air circulation to the precise-position settings that relieve thigh and back fatigue, our patented Phase3 Outfitting delivers unprecedented fit and comfort. We use a friction system, not a ratchet system, that allows you to set the positions anywhere within the range of motion for that adjustment. You can set up your Phase3 seat precisely to fit YOUR body type. And you’ll never have to land and exit your boat to adjust your settings; all controls are right at your fingertips.
The more you paddle the more you’ll appreciate the engineering marvels of Phase3. Nothing else compares.

SETTINGS:

1. Thigh Support gives you more than 45 degrees of pitch. On long paddles, the legs are often the first things to feel discomfort. Not anymore.

2. Backrest Angle has a recline feature; especially nice on slow moving rivers or when riding a tide and you just want to kick back and enjoy the scenery.

3. Backrest Height; raise and lower this to find the “sweet spot” for optimum back support.

Phase 3 Lite Outfitting

Comfort and safety is an assurance when you buy a Wilderness Systems kayak, even the lesser priced models. Phase3 Lite, available on some of our value line products, is a scaled back version of our full-featured outfitting. With less foam, fewer air flow channels and lacking the Backrest Height feature, it’s still superior outfitting to just about anything else out there.
